In the lead up to this weekends Bestival we have been working our pants off to get ready, and this year it’s bigger and better than ever. We have had the worlds largest pants made and they are a whopping 20 mitres wide, that’s six car park spaces. They were produced by the lovely Natasha in a secret Pants location, we can’t wait to unveil them this weekend but here is a sneak peak of just how much fabric we used;
We are aiming to break 6 world records at Bestival so watch this space to see how we got on. Natasha also produced the world’s smallest pair of pants and thong, they are less then 2 cm wide.
We are so impressed with Natasha’s work, ‘currently working as a pattern cutter and grader for a high-end fashion house in Chelsea’ she seemed used to our crazy demands this might be from her history as a costume designer.
She says “During my time working in fashion, I have been constantly aware of how ‘fast fashion’ in particular, has contributed to damaging the planet and also the unethical use of cheap labor in some developing countries. I am wishing to pursue my goals in promoting ethical, sustainable and fair trade fashion. Taking part in this Big-pants project is ever so exciting for me and is a precious opportunity to be involved in such a worthwhile campaign. Hopefully, this project will help to raise further awareness of moral ethics and social responsibility within the fashion industry and its consumers.”
So along with our preparations for our world record breaking we have been doing what everyone else does before they go to a festival; gathering our tents and shopping for food and booze supplies, we bought so much at the super market they lent us two trolleys to take it back to the office,
